The fear of hurting someone’s feelings, or facing their possible anger or confusion, can sometimes be so strong that it prevents us from saying what needs to be said with honesty and clarity. It seems easier to simply remain quiet, but there is nothing easy about living with inner conflict or remaining in a situation that is no longer serving us because we’re afraid to speak up. In this workshop we’ll learn ways to communicate our truth with honesty, clarity and kindness. We’ll rediscover that how to say something becomes simpler when we are very clear about what we want to say and why we want to say it. We’ll gain deeper insight into the power of intention to create meaningful and helpful conversation. And we’ll also consider when it truly is best to choose to say nothing. This will be a focused, thought-provoking examination of communication as a path to freedom and peace of mind. And it will also be a little bit fun. Time For It All: Putting Your Soul in Charge of Your To-Do List A provocative "time unmanagment" course from Solid Ground It's such a common refrain we simply accept it as a fact of our modern culture: There is not enough time. And what we mean is, there is not enough time to get everything done. But what if that isn't true? What if there is plenty of time to get everything done - everything that truly needs to be done? What if our harried relationship with time is based on a faulty premise? In this workshop we will take a radically different view. We will look at time not as a fixed and limited resource to be managed, but as a fluid and flexible experience that fluctuates with our state of mind. We will explore the power to shift that experience through...
You may have taken time management courses in the past that helped you clarify your priorities and provided techniques to improve efficiency. Yet as good and helpful as they may have been, the concept of time as something we should manage reinforces the very stress we are seeking to alleviate: managing time becomes yet another thing we have to do.
... becoming clear about our soul's true priorities. ... letting go of the need to prove our worth. ... recognizing the uniqueness and beauty of our essence and bringing that essence into everything we do. ... practicing moment-to-moment awareness and pausing for self-connection. ... listening to inner guidance in choosing how and when things get done. ... discovering our preferred balance of structure and flow. ... releasing resistance. Through the power of your intention, your awareness and your willingness to practice new ways of choosing, you can open yourself to the possibility of having all the time you need. Challenging Money Myths: Exploring the Directives of the Authentic Self Our experiences with money arise from a foundation of beliefs, assumptions and myths that direct our choices in ways both conscious and unconscious. Every decision we make involving money – how we earn it, spend it and invest it – is shaped by this foundation. What many of us do not realize is that the foundation is neither solid nor fixed. The many rules we live by are man-made and open to challenge. We need only the curiosity, willingness and courage to challenge them. When we change the foundation of our beliefs about money, we change our experience. Join us for a provocative conversation about how to recognize, challenge and shift the money myths that may be holding you back from living a deeply fulfilling life. Learn how to develop trust in the inner authority of your authentic self rather than rely on the fear-based rules of money management that arise from a paradigm of scarcity. Be willing to challenge everything – and open yourself to new possibilities for abundant, peaceful living. Getting Out of Your Own Way: How to Embrace Your Inner Procrastinator and Keep Moving Forward - Do you create unnecessary stress in your life by repeatedly putting things off until the last minute, or failing to do them at all? Redefining Responsibility: Knowing What is Truly Yours To DoOne of the biggest obstacles to living a passionate and joy-filled life is the tendency many of us have to encumber ourselves with obligations of all shapes and sizes. Our attempts to be the best parents, employees and friends that we can be often arise, not from genuine willingness and generosity, but from misguided "Shoulds" that are based in fear. We're afraid if we don't do all of these things we will fail ourselves or others. We're afraid, deep down, that we are just not good enough until and unless we can prove that we are good through our actions. Join transformation catalyst Suzanne Eder for an inspired and provocative new look at what it means to be responsible. She defines responsibility as honoring and acting on our soul's truth. She reminds us that being responsible means being authentic, honest and kind - and that true compassion and the willingness to help others arise only from a strong foundation of self-love. When we dare to be responsible to our souls and do only what is truly ours to do, we create space in our lives for inspiration and creativity...we become more focused, loving and effective...and we free and embolden others to claim what is truly theirs to do. In this workshop Suzanne will offer her unique and impassioned perspective on redefining responsibility, with plenty of time for Q&A and the opportunity for participants to work through exercises designed to stimulate new ways of thinking about their current responsibilities. The Power of a Peaceful MindLetting go of the stories, schemes, and stress that distract you from your Soul's purpose. Many of us understand that our minds have tremendous power to shape our reality, and yet fail to recognize the insidious habits of thought that continually erode the quality of our day-to-day lives. Joy-spoilers such as self-doubt, judgment and cynicism are so rampant we cannot see them for what they are and, instead, allow them to serve as convincing imposters for truth. In this workshop we will shine the spotlight of awareness on the wily ways of the egoic mind, opening up fresh choices for what we believe, think and experience. We will explore the immense freedom and power to live creative and authentic lives when we are at peace within ourselves. Living a Fulfilling Life as an Introvert in an Extravert WorldThis introductory class offers a unique perspective on the richness and deep satisfaction available to introverts who may feel challenged by living in a relentlessly extraverted culture, where it seems there are constant demands for interaction and productivity that exhaust and deplete us. If you're one of the 25% of the population who is naturally introspective and contemplative, loves the world of concepts and ideas, needs a lot of private time, is bubbling with creativity yet unsure how to bring your dreams out into the world, feels easily overwhelmed when around large groups of people or struggles with feeling accomplished and successful in a world of nonstop busy-ness - this might be just the course for you. We'll learn to deeply appreciate the inherent value our true nature brings to the world - and also to expand our self-identity so as not to be limited by the introvert label. As always, being true to ourselves and our soul's longings is the path to our deepest fulfillment. How many times have you talked yourself out of following your dreams? Are you ready, finally, for a new dialogue? Healing Relationships Workshop
Relationships are profound teachers when we are open to learning from them!
This transformative workshop is devoted to understanding and healing our relationships, especially primary relationships with a partner. Drawing on the insightful teachings from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, which help us to see relationships as evolving, energetic mirrors of our internal state of wholeness, we explore our relationship patterns and what they might reveal about who we are and what we really need. We also invoke the power of shared intention, through a brief but focused ceremony at the end of the workshop, to support us in releasing old patterns, fears and false beliefs. This workshop offers a uniquely safe and inspiring space for expanding self-awareness and taking your personal transformation work to deeper levels.
What does it mean to be truly prosperous? Many of us understand that money doesn’t buy happiness, yet we certainly don’t feel happy when we’re struggling to pay the bills! That feeling of struggle is an indication that something is out of balance; we are meant to live joyful, prosperous lives. What’s called for is a profound shift in understanding the true nature of our self worth, and redefining our relationship with money – and all of life’s riches – to align with that understanding. Much has been written about the power of intention in recent years, yet many of us are still uncertain about what it really is and how it shapes and defines our lives. As a graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, Suzanne has studied this powerful dimension of our existence from an energetic and integrated perspective that offers a truly profound, multi-layered understanding of its essential nature. If you are ready to create positive change in your life, whether it’s starting – or leaving! - a relationship or career, committing to a creative project or taking conscious steps to increase your health and vitality, you will undoubtedly be searching for guidance and support in the process. And luckily, you already have the very wisdom you need. Shifting our experience of stress is all about expanding our self awareness and learning to make different choices - not just in our actions, but in the very fabric of our perception: our beliefs, thoughts and language. A willingness to see with new eyes opens up new options for healthy living. A Holistic Approach to Realizing Your Ideal Weight Realizing Success from the Inside Out In our fast-paced, goal-oriented culture, we are taught to aggressively chase down our dreams and make them happen. We set our sights on the finish line, establish well-meaning plans and action items – and then get tangled up in the messiness of daily living. Somehow our focus – and our dreams – get lost in the chaos of carpools and doctor’s appointments and soccer games and climbing the corporate ladder and recycling our plastic bottles and paying the bills on time and losing those last five pounds. We crash headlong into the seemingly insurmountable obstacle of Not Enough Time. But we’ve forgotten that the real obstacles to our success aren’t outside of us – the real obstacles reside deep within us. We’ve jumped immediately into action without bothering to reshape the fundamentals that give rise to that action: beliefs about ourselves, our worth, our priorities and our possibilities. We forget that living our dreams is really a creative process, not a mechanical one – a process that requires original thinking and loving attention to what we really want, rather than making yet one more to-do list and forcing ourselves to check things off as quickly as we can. In this workshop we examine the power of our beliefs, thoughts and language in creating what we want in our lives. We will begin to see that what we thought was “real” -– the stories we tell ourselves about the kind of person we are, what other people are thinking and how they are going to react to us – are just habits of thinking that may or may not be true, and may or may not be helping us realize our dreams. Our willingness to face ourselves honestly and to make different choices about what we believe, how we think and where we place our attention can transform fear, self-doubt and cynicism into trust, empowerment and inspiration. We also take time to reconnect with the motivational fuel that drives all success: passion! Too often we fail to give ourselves permission to want what we truly want, and even when we do it gets smothered in a heap of must-do’s and should-do’s. Creating the life we want requires, quite simply, our conscious attention. What we focus on is what expands in our lives, and so we will explore ways to keep our attention focused on what we really want. Meditation Workshop Suzanne is a strong proponent of meditation as an essential practice for expanded awareness and cultivating peace of mind. After several requests from clients and class participants, she developed a popular workshop to provide more understanding of this practice. This workshop includes a discussion and exploration of meditation and how you can begin, deepen or expand a practice. Although not a “meditation expert,” Suzanne is an experienced partner on the path, and uses this format to share what she has gained from her own meditaion practice. The class is light and informal, yet offers several substantive practice meditations and suggestions for meditating on your own. “This is My Time!” Private Retreats for Women Do you have a small group of friends, or perhaps a women’s support group, that is looking for some focused guidance on this journey of creating a vibrant, passionate life?
